I'm Josh, and 2nd Draft Co is a one-person shop based in Port Orchard, Washington.

The name comes from a working theory: first drafts are where you figure out what you're making. Second drafts are where you actually make it. Everything I sell here has been through both.

Most of what I do starts in my head and ends on a 3D printer. Right now that means topographic relief maps of places worth knowing, like the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, the Cascades, and other landscapes pulled from real elevation data. But the shop isn't built around any one medium or category. If I find a way to make something better than what's already on the shelf, that's what shows up here next.

There's a lot of stuff in the world made fast, made cheap, made once. I'm not against that. I'm just not making any of it. Every piece that leaves this shop is designed, printed, finished, and packed by me. If it isn't right, it doesn't ship. If you got it, it cleared the bar.

This is a side operation that runs on evenings and weekends, which is why orders take a couple of weeks. That's the trade-off, and it's the point. The result is the second draft, not the first.
